Total cost: based on the most recent scale of fees: AMB 291, 25.10.2022.

Students who start their studies regularly with 210 ECTS and complete all Advanced Modules at our Institute at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin can expect a total of 16.400,- Euro for tuition fees (including Master Thesis and Relevant Professional Experience but excluding cost for software license). If the studies are completed within the standard period of 2 years registration fees of 400,- to 1.280,- Euro need to added, summing up to 16.800,- to 17.680,- Euro.

Tuition Fees in Detail:

Core Course: The cost per ECTS credit point for the Core Course is 300,- Euro. At 20 ECTS credit points, the tuition fee for the Core Course amounts to 6.000,- Euro. There may be additional costs for statistical software licenses of 40,- to 150,- Euro.

Advanced Modules: For students who start the programme in 2023 or later the cost per ECTS credit point for Advanced Modules offered by our Institute at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is 350,- Euro. For example: A 1-week Advanced Module yielding 2 ECTS credit points costs 700,- Euro, a 2-week module yielding 3 ECTS 1.050,- Euro, and a 3-week module yielding 4.5 ECTS credit points 1.575,- Euro. As there may be additional cost, please consult the webpage of the respective Advanced Module for the exact fee.

For students who started the programme in 2022 or earlier the cost per ECTS credit point for Advanced Modules offered by our Institute at Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin is 275.- Euro, irrespective when the advanced module will be taken.

Please note that the fees per ECTS credit point for Advanced Modules at other tropEd institutions differ! Please consult the tropEd webpage of the respective module for the exact fee or contact the respective tropEd institution directly.

Advanced Critical Literature Review: For students who start the programme in 2023 or later the cost per ECTS credit point for the Advanced Literature Review is 100,- Euro. At 15 ECTS credit points the tuition fee for the Advanced Critical Literature Review is 1.500,- Euro.

For students who started the programme in 2022 or earlier the cost per ECTS credit point for the Advanced Literature Review is 60.- Euro. At 15 ECTS credit points the tuition fee for the Advanced Critical Literature Review is 900.- Euro.

Relevant Professional Experience: For students who start the programme in 2023 or later the cost per ECTS credit point for the Relevant Professional Experience module is 20,- Euro. At 20 ECTS credit points, the tuition fee for Relevant Professional Experience module is 400,- Euro.

For students who start the programme in 2022 or earlier the cost per ECTS credit point for the Relevant Professional Experience module is 12,50 Euro. At 20 ECTS credit points, the tuition fee for Relevant Professional Experience module is 250.- Euro.

Master Thesis: For students who start the programme in 2023 or later the cost for the Master Thesis is 100,- Euro per ECTS credit point. The tuition fee for the Master Thesis yielding 30 ECTS credit points thus is 3.000,- Euro.

For students who started the programme ibetween 2019 and 2022 the cost for the Master Thesis is 60,- Euro per ECTS credit point. The tuition fee for the Master Thesis yielding 30 ECTS credit points thus is 1.800,- Euro.

For students who started the programme in 2018 or earlier the cost for the Master Thesis is 75,- Euro per ECTS credit point. The tuition fee for the Master Thesis yielding 20 ECTS credit points thus is 1.500,- Euro.

Please note that the conduct of the Master Thesis may involve considerable cost (e.g. for travel, accommodation, software license, ethical clearance, research assistance, printing, translations, laboratory materials etc.). The funding of the Master Thesis is the responsibility of the students.

Registration and examination fees:

MScIH students are registered as students of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and have to pay a registration fee of presently about 100,- to 320,- Euro (excluding/including the student ticket for the Berlin Public Transport Company, BVG) per semester, i.e. twice annually.

At Charité – Universitätsmedizin, there are no examination fees.

Mode of payment:

For the tuition fees of the Core Course, the Advanced Modules, the Advanced Critical Literature Review, the Relevant Professional Experience and the Master Thesis students receive an invoice. The (re-)registration fees students need to transfer unsolicited each semester (i.e. twice annually) during the respective (re-)registration periods.
