Master of Science in International Health

Approximate total costs:

For students who start the MScIH with at least 210 ECTS credit points from BSc studies: tuition fees for the entire Master of Science in International Health programme amount to approximately 8,500 to 15,000 €, depending on the institutions and modules selected. If all necessary advanced modules are selected from the ones available at Charité’s Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health, the total tuition fees for MscIH students amount to approximately 10,000 €.

For students who start the MScIH with 180 ECTS credit points from BSc studies: tuition fees for the entire Master of Science in International Health programme amount to approximately 11,500 to 18,000 €, depending on the institutions and modules selected.

Tuition fees in detail:

At Charité, for MScIH students the fee for the core course amounts to 175 € per ECTS credit point. Given that the core course yields 20 ECTS credit points the tuition fee amounts to 3,500 €. Additional costs: 40-150 € for statistical software license, 200-300 € for field trip to Geneva.

Advanced module fees are based on the current fee regulations of the individual tropEd institution and vary widely from country to country. Generally, a fee of about 200-300 € per ECTS credit points has to be paid for advanced modules.

At Charité, for MScIH students the fee for advanced modules amounts to 250 € per ECTS credit point. For example: one-week advanced modules yielding 1.5 ECTS credits cost 375 €, two-week advanced modules yielding 3 ECTS credits cost 750 €, and three-week advanced modules yielding 4.5 ECTS credits costs 1125 €. At Charité, for MScIH students who start the MScIH with 180 ECTS credit points from BSc studies the fee for the additional critical literature review amounts to 75 € per ECTS credit point, thus 1,125 € for a review yielding 15 ECTS credit points.

At Charité, for MScIH students the thesis fee amounts to 75 € per ECTS credit point, thus 1,500 € for a thesis yielding 20 ECTS credit points.

Registration and examination fees:

MScIH students of Charité must pay a registration fee of presently about 100 € per semester, i.e. twice annually. After payment of this fee, a student ID card is issued which allows the owner to obtain a price-reduced public transport ticket and to benefit from reduced fees in cinemas, theatres, museums etc. DAAD scholarship holders pay a reduced fee.

At Charité, there are no examination fees.
